Men’s Open Groups

No need to RSVP. Just ‘drop in’ and attend. ALL men are welcome!

Find a Group

Why should you come to one of our Online & Open Men’s Groups?

  • It’s a place where you can come and share what’s going on for you, where you can be heard and not judged.
  • Sometimes you just need to talk about what’s going on.
  • Just by being there and listening and witnessing what’s going on for another man, you’re helping him heal and grow.
  • Or, you might just want to share the company of some great men and have a chat.
Men;s Open Groups

If you’re already involved in a group, this is a great gift to give another man, bring a mate into our groups and have him experience the support and compassion that other men can offer.

Our O&OMGs are co-ordinated by Dob. You can call him with specific questions on 0424 146 005.

Join our Online Open Men’s Groups via Zoom

Our Open Men’s Groups have moved online to become Online Open Men’s Groups (OOMGs).

During these uncertain and challenging times, you can now jump online for the opportunity to connect with good men, to talk and listen in a healthy environment and perhaps ease some stress and anxiety.

To access the OOMGs simply click on the relevant link below. OOMGs are open to any man, no previous experience is necessary, no need to book in, no cost involved, just log in online at the allocated time! Newcomers are most welcome.

We have named the different OOMG meetings listed below by the geographical location of where the respective facilitators reside. However, with the wonders of being online you can attend any and multiple “locations” that suit you.

Important:

The Online Open Men’s Group replicates a traditional Open Men’s Group circle, but with the convenience of being in an online format. Therefore, we respectfully ask that you are fully present (no distractions or interruptions), drug and alcohol free and stay ‘in circle’ (online) until the men’s group has concluded.

Technology

The Online Open Men’s Groups are not suitable for participation on a mobile phone. Quite simply, the screen is not big enough, you can’t see the other participants properly and holding or balancing a phone for two hours is too hard. Please join on a device with a good-sized screen (a PC or a tablet). You need to plan to be in a quiet, private place, having earphones/headphones available can help in this regard.

First time using Zoom?

If this is your first time using Zoom, please make sure that well before the joining time, you have loaded Zoom onto your PC and tested your microphone and speaker. The Zoom website https://zoom.us/download has instructions on how to do this (it’s not difficult, but it is necessary!).

Our O&OMGs are free to participate

But not free for us to host. To support these meetings and help them continue you can donate. Facilitators are not paid. Donations go to covering costs. Donations to Mens Wellbeing are tax deductible, and a receipt will be emailed to you. (Your credit card will be processed through our PayPal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account yourself, click their button “Check out as guest” to pay using your credit card.)
