For 30 years Mens Wellbeing has supported men and their families through a range of programs and events. Men have unique challenges in life and relationships. More so than ever, having a solid support base is key in navigating life for the modern man. Men need men.
We are a peer based support community where, to quote our Patron Steve Biddulph;
Men are not patients to be fixed, but brothers to be heard.
Mens Wellbeing is a vital cog in our community men’s healthcare framework. There is no religious or political affiliation or bias. Men from all walks and persuasions are warmly welcomed.
“To equip men with the emotional tools and community support they need to lead healthy, connected lives – creating a positive ripple effect for their families, workplaces, and communities.”
We believe a man’s growth is realised when he shows up authentically for himself, and by how he shows up for others. We foster an environment where men share their lived experience to support their mates. This is the path from loneliness & isolation to meaningful friendships and a love of life.
We value the courage it takes to be honest with ourselves. Our programs encourage men to take full responsibility for their actions, their emotions, and their impact on those around them.
We measure our success by the health of the relationships our men return home to. We focus on building the skills – like emotional regulation and respectful communication – that make men better partners, fathers, and colleagues.
Steve Biddulph AM, Charity Patron
Mens Wellbeing is proud to have Steve Biddulph AM as our patron. Steve is a world-recognised family psychologist and author of best-selling books including Manhood, Raising Boys, Raising Girls, Stories of Manhood, The Secret Life of Men and most recently, Wild Creature Mind.
Many men in our community have arrived here having read Manhood, it does not replace the need for a men’s group, it will give it real context. Themes in Manhood have been used in our programs, especially topics like our fathers and fathering, quality of our male friendships and healthy sexuality and relationships.
